Ikpeba Urges Super Eagles To Buckle Up..

Super Eagles players have been charged to step up their style of play in a bid to make leadway in the forthcoming 2010 African Nations Cup and FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

Former Super Eagles winger, Victor Ikpeba, who revealed this in an interview with Naijasport.blogspot.com, said it was disheartening that non of the Super Eagles players were nominated for the Glo- CAF African Football er Award which has eluded the country in the last five years.

Te former Prince of Monaco, said non of the Super Eagles are playing top flight football in respected football clubs in Europeexcept Chelsea F.C player, Mikel Obi, who plays for the club regularly in the English Premier League and European Champions League.

He said the award has favoured african strikers and the move showed that Nigerian strikers have to work hard to be among the payers who could win the award in subsequent editions.

Obaseki Condenms Neglects Of Premier League Players

The Nigeria Premier League,NPL, has condemned the non inclussion of the nation's Premier League players in the provisional list of Super Eagles players preparartory to the 2010 African Nations Cup in Angola.

Its Chairman, Oyuiki Obaseki, said the premier league could produced three different teams which would defeat the Super Eagles in a competitive tournament because they are are conpetent and in the mood to fight for a place in the national team based on their soccer prowess.

He said the national coaches did not visit match venues during league matches to search for quality players whom they could expose totough matches to garner experience to compete with other african teams.

Obaseki, said the Nigeria's permier league would be improved to meet the international standard as the league body is working hard to add value to the fortune of Nigerian league players.
